Jhapa: General Secretary of Nepali Congress, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, emphasized the need for a stable government through the alliance between the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML. He stated that frequent government changes have led to instability, prompting the two major political parties to collaborate.
Sharma clarified that under the agreement, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli will lead the government initially, with NC's support. He expressed optimism that the new government would prevent future crises.
He also highlighted the importance of coordination among the three tiers of government to facilitate local development projects. Sharma urged elected representatives from different parties to work as common representatives for all constituents.
In addition to political discussions, Sharma laid the foundation stone for an overhead water tank at Sirjana Chowk in Mechinagar, Jhapa. The tank, aimed at improving the drinking water supply for Kakadbhitta, Dhulabari, Charali, and Bahundangi, is projected to cost Rs 104 million. The Kakadbhitta Drinking Water Consumers and Sanitation Association will contribute Rs 13 million, while the federal government will provide Rs 11 million for the project.
Furthermore, Sharma inaugurated the construction of a suspension bridge over the Timai stream in Buddhashanti rural municipality.
